Hwanseon Cave (환선굴) is a cave located in Gangwon province, South Korea. It is one of the largest limestone caves in Asia, and the biggest in Korea, with 6.2 km of known passages and a total suspected length of 8 km, 1.6 km of which are visited by over 1 million people per year.

In 1966 the South Korea government designated this cave and a neighboring cave not open to the public, Gwaneum cave (관음굴), National Monument 178.[1] Hwanseongul was opened to the public in 1997.

환선굴은 약 5억 3천만년 전에 생성된 석회암 동굴로 우리나라에서 가장 규모가 큰 석회암 동굴이면서 동양최대의 크기이다.
환선굴은 천연기념물 제178호.
대금굴에는 모노레일을 타고 굴안까지 갈 수 있다
Situated in a rugged karst range near the city of Samcheok, the cave's 10 m tall entrance is a grueling 30 to 45 minute uphill hike from the ticket office, although it is also serviced by a monorail which takes 6 minutes.
평지에서 환선굴까지 관람객을 실어나르는 모노레일은, 성인 왕복 7천원, 어린이 왕복 3천원.
. 2010년 4월부터 환선굴 모노레일 운행을 시작하여 좀 더 쉽게 환선굴을 관람할 수 있게 되었다.
동굴 내부를 관람하는 데 약 1시간이 걸린다. 관람코스는 대략 1.6km 정도
동굴내부에는 미녀상, 마리아상, 도깨비방망이, 옥좌대 등 여러 모양의 종류석, 석순, 석주가 웅장하게 잘 발달되어 있습니다.
깜깜한 동굴 안에는 전등이 켜져있어 신비한 동화의 나라에 온 기분이다.
꽤 오랫동안 개방되어서인지 이끼가 낀 것도 보이고
Once inside, the temperature varies between 10° and 14°C. The walls spout water from innumerable cracks and seeps, which join to make good-sized streams, waterfalls and ten large pools.
Some rooms in the cave are vast, 100 m tall, and bridges have been built across chasms in them.[3] The usual fanciful names have been given to the various formations, but the high rate of water flow has prevented the building up of many stalagmites or stalactites.
Flowstones, rimstones, popcorn, pipes and curtains are more abundant.[4] There are 47 species of wildlife found in the cave, including the lungless Korean clawed salamander Onychodactylus fischeri, the spider Allomengea coreana, the cave cricket Diestrammena asynamora, the millipedes Epanerchodus kimi and Antrokoreana gracilipes, the moth Apopestes indica, and a species of amphipod in the genus Pseudocrangonyx. Four species are unique to Hwanseon Cave, including the beetle Kurasawatrechus latior.[5]
환선굴에서 발견된 동물은 모두 47종이며, 이 중 환선장님좀딱정벌레 등 4종이 환선굴에서만 발견되거나 환선굴이 모식산지로 기록되어 있습니다.
The cave is open year-round, and the self-guided tour costs ₩4000, about $4, and takes about an hour to traverse 1.6 km on steel catwalks, not including the 1.3 km long, 200 m climb to and from the entrance.
동굴 안에 어느 스님이 수행을 하다가 나오지 않아서, 이 스님이 신선이 되어 승천했다고 생각해서 환선이라는 이름이 붙었다고 한다.
